Departing San Francisco, we venture into the Los Carneros appellation composed of a series of low rolling hills that sit above San Pablo Bay and beneath Mount Veeder. Because of the clay dominant soils, the cooling influence of the Bay, regular fog and ocean breezes from the Pacific through the Petaluma wind gap, the region is ideal for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.

Domaine Carneros is a singular Napa Valley winery best known as a small grower-producer of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine, estate vineyards and a breathtakingly beautiful Château.  In the spacious and opulent private tasting room, you will discover the Art of Sparkling Wine Pairing that will take you on a journey of discovery through unexpected and delightful pairings with sparkling wine.

This Food & Wine Pairing experience will include savory bites, each of which has been specially designed to pair with a selection of Carneros sparkling wines – Ultra Brut, Estate Brut Cuvée, Brut Rosé and Verméil Demi-Sec. Led by seasoned wine educators, this experience will open your eyes to a new side of sparkling wine.

About Domaine Carneros

Founded by the noble family behind Champagne Taittinger, Domaine Carneros was established in 1987. Domaine Carneros farms 6 ranches in the Carneros AVA, and all of them are within 4 miles of the Chateau. Our Estate Vineyards now total 400 acres, 250 acres devoted to Pinot Noir and 150 acres planted to Chardonnay.

Weather permitting, your lunch experience will be hosted out in the newly built Plaza adjacent to the tasting room and lounges. This experience will include a three-course lunch serving paired with a selection of Pinot Noirs & hearty Cabernet Sauvignons to provide you with a full edification of what makes Etude so distinct.

About Etude Winery

Tucked away in the far northwest corner of the esteemed Carneros appellation is a rambling tract of grazing land that is bisected by the Rodgers Creek Fault Line at the southern toe of Sonoma Mountain. Unlike customary Carneros acreage, which is largely uplifted by bottoms with soils composed of clay, the soils on the Etude Estate site are variations of volcanic origin. They are well drained, rocky upland soils. Combining these soils with the extreme western location closer to the Pacific Ocean makes this site a decidedly distinct destination (if not entirely atypical for Carneros). Etude believes sustainable farming results in better, higher quality wine, and ensures the viability of their estate for generations to come. Known for their flagship Heirloom Pinot Noir to their small-lot Napa Valley Cabernet and customer favorite Pinot Gris, Etude has been crafting award-winning wines for 35 years.
